When we founded V-BOX in 2020, the reptile rack industry was largely defined by two extremes: handmade racks built by individual breeders for personal use, and mass-produced commodity products with poor build quality. We saw a third path — engineered, modular, professional-grade equipment manufactured at scale, but designed with the precision that serious breeders demand. Six years later, that vision has become Stellar Start, our global B2B brand serving distributors, retailers, and breeding facilities across 20+ countries.
Where We Started
V-BOX was founded by reptile keepers who became frustrated with the rack equipment available on the market. The early product line was small — a handful of injection-molded tub sizes designed around the most common breeding species. But from day one, our product philosophy was clear: every component should be modular, replaceable, and engineered to integrate with the rest of the line.
This was a deliberate choice. Most rack manufacturers at the time produced one-off products with no compatibility between SKUs. We took the harder path of designing universal rack frames that could accept multiple tub sizes — a decision that cost us more in tooling but laid the foundation for the modular product lines we offer today.
The Stellar Start Brand
Stellar Start is our global B2B brand, launched to serve international wholesale customers. While V-BOX continues as our manufacturing identity, Stellar Start represents the curated product range, technical documentation, and global support infrastructure built specifically for distributors and breeding facilities.
Everything in the Stellar Start catalogue is manufactured in our own facilities — not white-labeled or sourced from third parties. This vertical integration lets us guarantee quality, hold tight tolerances, and offer OEM/ODM services without the bottlenecks of relying on outside suppliers.
Our Manufacturing Approach
Stellar Start products are made through three core processes:
Injection molding for PET tubs — All feeding boxes are molded from food-grade PET (polyethylene terephthalate) with precision tooling. PET was chosen specifically for its durability, chemical resistance, and recyclability. Tubs are available in three colors (transparent, white, black) and undergo dimensional checks at multiple stages of production.
Powder-coated steel and aluminum frames — Rack frames are produced from cold-rolled steel or aluminum alloy depending on the model. Frames are powder-coated with anti-static coatings in matte black or matte silver finishes. Every frame is tested for load capacity before shipping.
Resistance-wire heating plates — Heating elements are matched to each rack model with model-specific dimensions. All heating plates feature anti-static coatings, dual voltage support (110V/220V) for international shipping, and resistance wire elements for long-term reliability.

What Drives Our Product Decisions
Every product we develop goes through three filters:
Does it serve professional breeders? — Our customers are breeding facilities, retailers, and serious hobbyists. Products that only work for casual hobby use do not make our catalogue.
Does it integrate with existing products? — New SKUs must be compatible with existing rack frames, heating systems, or tub configurations. We avoid orphan products.
Can we manufacture it consistently at scale? — If a design cannot be manufactured to consistent tolerances at our production volumes, we redesign it. Quality is non-negotiable.
What is Ahead in 2026
For the rest of 2026, we are focused on three priorities:
1. Product line expansion — We are launching upgraded NS6090 tubs (announced separately), reinforced A/R series frames, and new RS Glass sizes including a 180cm long-format terrarium.
2. Distributor support — We are investing in better wholesale documentation, faster response times, and improved sample programs for new B2B partners.
3. Global logistics — We are expanding our shipping partnerships to reduce transit times to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe — three of the fastest-growing reptile markets in 2026.
